Sr. Veronica Brand RSHM currently serves as the main NGO representative of her congregation – the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, – at the United Nations in New York. Originally from Zimbabwe, she spent more than 25 years of ministry in Southern Africa after completing her religious formation and graduate studies in New York. In Zimbabwe she worked in social work education, development education and outreach as well as serving as Inter-Africa Coordinator for RSHM mission in 4 countries in Africa. After two mandates on her Institute leadership team in Rome, where she served as General Treasurer for her religious congregation, as well as a Board member of the Catholic United Investment Trust (CUIT), she spent four years in Zambia before being asked to assume the role of NGO representative for the RSHM.
