Caitlin Seznec joined Investor Advocates for Social Justice in 2024 as Program Director, leading the Climate + Dignity Campaign. She brings experience in environmental policy and a focus on the intersectionality of justice and climate action. Caitlin is deeply committed to advancing community-driven solutions for a just and sustainable future.
Prior to joining IASJ, Caitlin worked at an environmental policy consulting firm where she contributed to a range of projects, from providing environmental compliance support for federal agencies to facilitating stakeholder engagement for a local nonprofit’s climate action plan. Notably, she worked on a project with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation that involved conducting a comprehensive capacity needs assessment of the clean water workforce, contributing to research design and analysis, and stakeholder identification and engagement.
During an internship with the Vermont Attorney General’s Office’s Environmental Protection Division, she provided updates on key legislative developments and presented a Just Transition analysis of the proposed Global Warming Solutions Act.
Caitlin holds a Master’s in Environment, Culture & Society from the University of Edinburgh, where her studies focused on environmental justice, global environmental politics, and sustainable development. She completed her dissertation on the systemic injustices contributing to climate displacement of Native communities in the U.S. and proposed policy solutions centered on reparative justice, receiving a distinction for her work. She holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Policy from Champlain College.
