Brother George Schmitz

Brother George Schmitz, CSC, is a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross. He is currently the Director of Planned Giving and Alumni Affairs at Notre Dame High School, West Haven, CT. His engagement in corporate social responsibility activities dates from the 1970s when he served as his congregation’s associate representative to IASJ, formerly Tri-CRI. From 1985 to 1998 he was Executive Director of Leviticus Fund, a CDFI founded by CRI members. Schmitz has degrees from the University of Notre Dame (BA, Spanish), Middlebury College (MA, Spanish), and Fordham University (MA, Religious and Religious Education.) He held leadership positions in his religious congregation from 1998 to 2006 (regionally, East Coast) and internationally from 2010 to 2006. Schmitz has been a member of his congregation’s finance commission for 20 years.
