Blair Nelsen is Executive Director of Waterspirit, a spiritual ecology nonprofit sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. Through programs, education, and advocacy, Waterspirit inspires, informs and enables all people to deepen their consciousness of the sacredness of water and all of Earth’s systems. Blair brings a multi-faith, international perspective to her work in the field of spiritual ecology after years of living in Brazil and Venezuela. She also represents the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace at the United Nations, where she is actively engaged in faith-based environmental collaborations. She is co-author of the Climate Pastoral Care Course. Blair received her Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School and her BA with honors in Environmental Studies from Brown University. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, and has experience with tropical agroecology and permaculture. She is an experienced meditation coach and retreat leader.
